My stay at Durham Donkey Rescue Shepherd's Hut was simply incredible! The hut itself was cozy and had everything I needed, including a hot plate, microwave, and a lovely gift basket filled with essential items and treats. The decor was tasteful, and the bathroom had a shower and toilet. But the highlight of my stay was definitely the donkeys! They were friendly and adorable, and I had the opportunity to feed them and even brush them. My daughter absolutely loved it! The secluded and quiet location of the accommodation made it even more charming, and the friendly owners were always there to help. I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be returning to this hidden gem!
Although the shower was a bit tricky to operate, it didn't affect my overall amazing stay here. The accommodation was compact, so it's best not to bring too much luggage.

The location of the Shepherd's Hut is absolutely stunning, surrounded by glorious countryside. the hut itself is tastefully decorated, cozy, and well-equipped with a hot plate, microwave, and a lovely gift basket on arrival. It even has a TV and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. the little fenced-in area where the donkeys come to visit is a wonderful touch, allowing guests to interact with them and even brush and feed them.
The shower was a bit complicated to operate initially, but it didn't detract from the overall amazing experience at this beautiful place.

This place is totally mind-blowing! The shepherds hut is like a dream home with all the amenities you could ever need. The donkeys are super friendly and it's so relaxing being amongst them. The little fenced area where they come to visit is jaw-droppingly cute. Even on a rainy day, this place is still incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Carolyn and Ian, the hosts, went above and beyond, providing everything we could possibly want and even surprising us with a hamper. They were so knowledgeable about the donkeys and the area. The welcome hamper was such a thoughtful touch, including treats for my son and even thinking about pets. We loved chatting with the donkeys, including Mr. Harold, every evening. We already miss our temporary home and cannot recommend this place enough!

What a delightful surprise! My daughter and I stayed at the Durham Donkey Rescue Shepherd's Hut for a short getaway. The hut itself was well-equipped with a hot plate, microwave, and even a lovely gift basket upon arrival. It was tastefully decorated and cozy, with a TV and bathroom with shower. We adored the enclosed outdoor space where we could spend time with the friendly donkeys that came to visit. The owners provided special food and a brush so we could feed and groom them. It was such a memorable experience and we can't wait to return.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Our stay at the Shepherd's Hut was incredible! The value for money was outstanding, with a well-appointed room that had all the amenities we needed, including a hot plate and microwave. The location was idyllic, nestled on a farm and offering a quiet and secluded getaway. The highlight of our stay was definitely the friendly and helpful owners who made us feel right at home. And of course, the seven donkeys who were an absolute delight to feed and cuddle with!
Food for breakfast could have been better with more variety.

The hut was a delightful surprise, equipped with everything we needed including a hot plate and microwave. the gift basket on arrival was a thoughtful touch, with essential items and treats. the enclosed space outside, sheltered by trees, was perfect for relaxation. the outside viewing area allowed us to get up close and personal with the friendly donkeys, feeding them and giving them cuddles. It was a memorable experience for my daughter and we will definitely be back.
The shower was a bit complicated to operate and wasn't working properly, but it didn't dampen our amazing stay here. there was no wifi available, although 4G connection worked fine.
